General

What is myAtlas?

myAtlas is a local-first, open-source task management app built for ADHD brains. It stores your data as plain Markdown files on your device, supports 16 productivity strategies, and offers optional encrypted cloud sync.

Is myAtlas free?

Yes. The core app is free forever with no feature gates or time limits. Optional managed cloud sync (ipso-one pro) is available for $3.99/month or $34.99/year.

What platforms does myAtlas support?

myAtlas runs natively on iOS, Android, Linux, macOS, and Windows.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device as plain Markdown files with YAML frontmatter. You can open, edit, copy, or delete them with any text editor. Nothing is sent to our servers unless you enable cloud sync.

Can ipsolabs read my data?

No. Your local data never leaves your device unless you opt in to cloud sync. If you enable sync, your data is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before transmission. We cannot decrypt it — only your device holds the key.

What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?

On most platforms, your vault folder remains on your device after uninstalling. On iOS and Android, app data may be deleted depending on your device settings. We recommend backing up your vault folder regularly.

What data do you collect?

We collect anonymous crash reports (device type, OS version, stack traces) to fix bugs. If you create an account, we store your email and authentication tokens. We never collect, read, or analyze your tasks or notes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Sync & Subscription

What does ipso-one pro include?

ipso-one pro includes managed encrypted cloud sync across all your devices, automatic backups, priority support, and upcoming features like voice braindump and web access.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel anytime through your app store (Apple: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions; Google: Play Store > Subscriptions) or the web dashboard at ipsolabs.io/account. You keep access until the end of your billing period.

What happens if my subscription expires?

Cloud sync stops, but all your local data stays on your device. Nothing is deleted. You can re-subscribe anytime to resume syncing.

How does encryption work?

Your data is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it ever leaves. The encryption key is stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore). You can transfer it to other devices using a recovery phrase. We never see your key.

What if I lose my encryption key?

If you lose your encryption key and recovery phrase, we cannot recover your encrypted cloud data. Your local data on your device is unaffected. We strongly recommend backing up your recovery phrase when you set up sync.

Open Source

Is myAtlas open source?

Yes. The myAtlas client app is licensed under GPLv3. You can view, fork, and contribute to the source code on GitHub.

Can I self-host sync?

Yes. The free tier supports syncing via Google Drive or any folder-sync service you set up yourself. ipso-one pro is our managed option for those who want zero-config encrypted sync without running your own infrastructure.

Can I contribute to myAtlas?

Absolutely. We welcome pull requests, bug reports, and feature suggestions. Check our Contributing Guide to get started.
