Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the myAtlas application ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
myAtlas is a task and life management application that stores your data locally on your device. Optional paid features include cloud sync and AI-powered task assistance.
3. Account Registration
- You may use the App without creating an account (local-only mode)
- Creating an Ipso Account requires a valid email address
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Free Tier
- Full local task management functionality
- No account required
- No time limit
ipso-one Subscription
- Additional features including managed cloud sync and encrypted backup
- Billed monthly ($3.99/month) or annually ($34.99/year) through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or web billing via Stripe
- Prices are displayed in the App or on the website before purchase and may vary by region
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- How to cancel: You can cancel anytime through your app store account settings (Apple: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions; Google: Play Store > Subscriptions) or the web account dashboard at ipsolabs.io/account
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then
- When your subscription expires, cloud sync stops but all local data remains on your device. You can re-subscribe at any time to resume syncing.
Refunds
- For App Store or Google Play purchases, refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their respective refund policies
- For web purchases via Stripe, refund requests can be submitted to support@ipsolabs.io
- We do not process app store refunds directly
5. Your Data
Ownership & Portability
- You retain full ownership of all content you create in the App
- Your data is stored in standard Markdown format with YAML frontmatter on your device — readable by any text editor
- You can export, copy, or delete your data at any time without our involvement
- We do not lock your data in a proprietary format — your vault folder is always accessible
Cloud Sync
- If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted on your device before being transmitted
- We cannot read your encrypted data
- You are responsible for backing up your encryption key
- If you lose your encryption key, we cannot recover your encrypted cloud data
Local Storage
- The App stores data on your device's file system
- Uninstalling the App may delete local data depending on your device settings
- We recommend backing up your vault folder regularly
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App to store or transmit malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our services or systems
- Use the App in violation of any applicable laws
7. Intellectual Property & Open Source
- The myAtlas application source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3). You may use, modify, and distribute the code under the terms of that license.
- "myAtlas" and "ipsolabs" are trademarks of ipsolabs. The GPLv3 license does not grant trademark rights.
- Your content remains yours — we claim no ownership over it
- The ipso-one cloud service (sync, backup, AI features) is a separate commercial offering. The GPLv3 license applies to the client application code, not to the cloud infrastructure or API services.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Cloud sync will always be available
- Data will never be lost (always maintain local backups)
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IPSOLABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Account Deletion
- You may delete your account at any time through the App (Settings > Account > Delete Account) or by contacting support@ipsolabs.io
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
- Upon account deletion, the following is permanently removed from our servers:
- Your Cognito identity (email, authentication tokens)
- All encrypted sync data in DynamoDB
- Any cloud backups in S3
- RevenueCat subscription association (purchase history remains with your app store)
- Local data on your device is not affected by account deletion — your vault remains intact
- Account deletion is irreversible. If you re-subscribe later, you start with a fresh cloud account.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Delaware.
